Bike 2 Work Public Service Announcement

Bike 2 Work for Major Employers

The City of Tucson and Pima Association of Governments, sponsors of Bike Fest 2008, invites all major employers in the region to promote a healthier environment by sponsoring Bike 2 Work events at their work site. Biking to work reduces congestion and air pollution and helps your employees live a longer and healthier life. Be part of a national event that brings cyclists out all over the country.

Here's How to join in the celebration:

  1. Register your workplace by March 21, 2008. Contact Tom Thivener, City of Tucson, 837-6691 or tom.thivener@tucsonaz.gov
  2. Promote Bike Fest and Bike 2 Work Day at your work site. Feel free to call if you need help.
  3. All bikers register online at http://www.dot.tucsonaz.gov/bikefest. Register by April 11 to win cool prizes.
  4. On April 11 greet your bike commuters with a reward. Breakfast will certainly be appreciated.
  5. Take pictures of all your activities and email or send them in. You’ll then get a new bike to raffle off to your bike commuters.

Be sure to encourage your bikers to stop at one of the Bike 2 Work locations for a $10 gift certificate to Bookman’s.

  1. Downtown in front of the main library
  2. Eastside at Bristol Coffeebus, Broadway and Craycroft

There’s loads of other Bike Fest activities throughout April. Go to http://www.dot.tucsonaz.gov/bikefest for all the details.
