Washes are Dangerous

Flowing Washes are Dangerous

Watch for Zack Rabbit and Lenny Lizard at bus shelters across Tucson this summer! No...NOT waiting for the bus, but reminding everyone that "Flowing Washes are Dangerous!" July and August signal the height of the monsoon season in Tucson. Desert washes carry huge amounts of water that can rise quickly and unexpectedly. The force of this water can carry both cars and people helplessly downstream.

Remember: "Flowing Washes are Dangerous. Road Closed? Don't go Through! When in Doubt, Wait it Out... ...Or Find a Safer Route!"

Additional information about the dangers of flowing washes is available in the Operation: Splash brochure. Operation: Splash pamphlet pdf
