MapGuide Viewer Installation
The TDOT Map Center maps require a simple ONE TIME download and installation of a FREE viewer (plugin) for your Internet browser in order to view the maps
Internet Explorer 6.0 and ABOVE users
Download the FREE viewer by clicking on this link: MapGuide Viewer Plugin. When you click the link a box like the one below will appear.
You can choose to "Run this program from its current location?" which is the easiest thing to do. This will automatically install the viewer without further ado. Then restart your browser.
Or if you choose "Save this program to disk" you will simply have to choose a folder on your computer to save the downloaded file in. Then you will need to use your Windows Explorer and located the file where you saved it. lastly you will need to "double-click" that downloaded file to install the viewer. Not too bad, but that's why it is easier to "Run this program from its current location".
After the viewer installs, if your browser is still open, close your browser and go back to the TDOT Map Center and view any map!!
Netsape 4.x ONLY Users

You will need to choose a folder to save the downloaded file in. After you have downloaded the file you will need to use Windows Explorer to find the file on your computer. When you find the file "double click" it to begin the installation. There is one point in the installation where you will get a screen that asks if you would like an "Automatic" or "Manual" installation. Choose the "Automatic". After the viewer installs, if your browser is still open, close your browser and go back to the TDOT Map Center and view any map!!
