Transit Division - ADA Office
In accordance with the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Regional Eligibility Program determines paratransit eligibility, advises out of town visitors, provides a regional appeals process, and issues identification cards for Sun Van and Pima Transit (Handi-car) clients.
Eligibility is based on an assessment of each applicant's functional ability to use accessible regular fixed route transit services (Sun Tran). Eligibility can be conditional or unconditional. The evaluation process begins with an application for ADA Paratransit Eligibility Certification, and may involve contact with professional references and an in-person assessment of functional travel skills.
